Responsibilities:
- Implement the IB PYP curriculum in the class, designing and delivering inquiry-based, transdisciplinary lessons;
- Facilitate learning experiences that align with the PYP's key concepts, transdisciplinary themes, and learner profile;
- Encourage student inquiry, critical thinking, and reflection;
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies;
- Use assessment data to inform instruction, adapt teaching approaches, and provide feedback to students and parents;
- Prepare and conduct student-led conferences as part of the reporting process;
- Create a classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional development of students, emphasizing the IB learner attributes;
- Support students in developing attributes such as empathy, open-mindedness, and respect for others;
- Provide guidance and counseling to address students' social and emotional needs;
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of students;
- Collaborate with learning support specialists to provide additional support for students with diverse learning needs;
- Foster student agency and independence in the learning process;

- Promote language development and literacy skills, emphasizing communication in multiple languages as appropriate;
- Encourage a love for reading and writing through classroom libraries and engaging literacy activities;
- Facilitate language acquisition for students with diverse language backgrounds;
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's learning journey within the PYP;
- Collaborate with parents to support their child's development and learning, including participation in school events and parent workshops;
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities related to the IB PYP philosophy, pedagogy, and best practices;
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to enhance teaching practices;
- Uphold the school's mission, values, and commitment to international-mindedness;
- Foster a culture of respect, inquiry, and global citizenship among students.
Requirements for the candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a relevant field;
- Teaching certification or qualification, as required for the region and the IB PYP program;
- Fluency in English;
- Experience teaching in an IB PYP school or a strong understanding of the PYP framework is desirable;
- Knowledge of inquiry-based learning, transdisciplinary teaching, and international education;
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills;
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and a passion for nurturing young learners within the IB PYP context.
