Tank Jacking Supervisor
Tank Construction Project
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all tank jacking and erection activities on site.
- Ensure safe operation of hydraulic jacking systems and associated equipment.
- Coordinate tank shell assembly, fit-up, alignment, lifting, and erection activities.
- Monitor jacking operations to ensure structural stability and compliance with approved procedures.
- Review and implement lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments related to jacking activities.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to ensure construction activities comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with approved drawings, procedures, and API requirements.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture among the workforce.
- Monitor workforce productivity and construction progress.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues during tank erection activities.
- Coordinate with welding, rigging, mechanical, and construction teams to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Ensure proper inspection and maintenance of jacking equipment before and during operations.
- Prepare daily progress reports and provide updates to project management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supervising tank jacking and erection activities.
- Proven experience with hydraulic jacking systems used in aboveground storage tank construction.
- Strong knowledge of storage tank erection methods and construction practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, construction specifications, and procedures.
- Experience managing construction crews and subcontractors.
- Good command of English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in API 650 storage tank construction projects.
- Previous involvement in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial construction projects.
- Familiarity with shell plate installation, roof erection, annular plates, bottom plates, and tank alignment activities.
- Knowledge of lifting operations, rigging practices, and construction safety requirements.
