Procurement Officer
Location: Baku city, Garadagh region, Baku-Astara 25km highway.
As a procurement Officer at Baku Shipyard LLC, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for goods, materials, and services required for shipbuilding and repair projects. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, you will ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's operational needs and financial goals.
- Identify reliable suppliers and maintain strong relationships with them to ensure timely delivery of quality goods and services.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure favorable pricing and payment terms.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent stockouts and delays in production.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and finance, to understand their procurement requirements and prioritize purchasing activities accordingly.
- Review purchase requisitions and approve purchases within authorized limits, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Track and analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement processes.
- Resolve supplier disputes and address any issues related to delivery delays, quality issues, or pricing discrepancies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to procurement to inform decision-making and mitigate risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the maritime or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail to evaluate supplier offerings and pricing structures.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel etc.).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- Engineer background
- Fluency in English, Russian and Azerbaijani, both written and verbal, is required.
