Head of Internal Control
Job Overview:
Head of Internal Control will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing internal control framework of the company. This role is critical in ensuring that the company’s operations are efficient, effective, and compliant with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in internal controls, compliance, risk management, and auditing, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
Internal Control Framework:
- Develop and implement a robust internal control framework in alignment with the company’s objectives, regulatory requirements and policies and procedures.
- Continuously assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement robust mechanisms to identify, prevent, and investigate potential fraudulent activities within the company.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess key risks to the company’s operations, record keeping and reporting.
- Develop risk appetite and risk universe of the company and evaluate inherit and residual risk impacts.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the company’s objectives are achieved with minimal risk exposure.
Audit and Compliance:
- Lead internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Foster the set of corporative values and ethics within the company by regular trainings, events, monitoring and ad-hock visits related with internal control.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary.
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop, update, and enforce policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
- Ensure that all employees are aware of and comply with internal control policies and procedures.
- Regularly monitor the organizational structure and operations to determine the needs for updates in regulatory documents.
Reporting, Collaboration and Communication:
- Develop and submit a comprehensive annual internal control and audit work plan to senior management in advance for review and approval.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the status of internal controls, risk management, and compliance to Top Management.
- Foster a culture of transparency and accountability within the organization.
- Provide necessary support to senior and middle management in their inquiries or strategic initiatives, ensuring accurate information and insights are delivered.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary to ensure seamless internal control processes and effective risk management across the organization.
- Ensure timely reporting and resolution of any fraud-related incidents while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal control, auditing, or risk management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
