Umid Babek Operating Company (UBOC) is an oil and gas company incorporated in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2017.
The company engages in oil and gas – exploration, production and operation activities in high-pressure Umid gas-condensate field and Babek prospective structure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. Umid and Babek offshore block is situated in the South of Caspian Sea, 75 km of SE Baku at water depth of 60-650 m. The current focus is on shallow water development of Umid field and exploration of Babek prospective structure. UBOC’s long-term plan involves exploration and development of deep-water regions and reservoirs deeper than currently penetrated. Procurement Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability criteria
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay informed about industry trends
- Source and purchase goods and services according to company policies and procedures
- Manage the entire procurement process, from requisition to delivery
- Receive requisition packages from the applicable engineering disciplines; checking for accuracy and completeness
- Select appropriate bidders from the Approved Vendors List (AVL); obtaining internal and external approvals where required
- Prepare/issue enquiry documents
- Expedite, receive and analyse bidders’ commercial quotations, and co-ordinate with the responsible discipline engineers for technical evaluations
- Prepare commercial bid evaluations and recommendations
- Attend Bid Clarifications and Pre-Award Meetings as required; issuing minutes of meeting for all commercial issues
- Conduct final commercial negotiations with technically acceptable bidders
- Confirm Bidder’s acceptance of all contractual obligations outlined in the Request for Quotation (RFQ), including minutes of meeting for any commercial and/or technical clarification meetings
- Assist contract team with the preparation of contracts/purchase orders
- Assist expediting in obtaining supplier data, if required
Ideal candidate profile:
Experience:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on strategic sourcing.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (ERP).
