Chief Accountant
We are looking for highly qualified candidates for the full-time position of Chief Accountant to join our team in the oil & gas sector.
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
Skills and Qualifications:
- Higher education in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant (oil & gas industry preferred)
- PMS certification is required
- ACCA FR, FA certifications are an advantage
- Proficiency in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English
- Excellent knowledge of local tax legislation and IFRS
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure with strong stress resilience
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate accounting records in full compliance with legislation and standards
- Monitor bank accounts and ensure timely execution of payments
- Manage petty cash, advances, and business trip reports according to internal policies
- Review and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Calculate and process all types of payroll in compliance with legal requirements
- Prepare and submit applications, letters, and inquiries to the State Tax Service
- Respond to all inquiries from the State Tax Service in a timely manner
- Submit tax reports monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Prepare and submit reports to the State Social Protection Fund (DSMF)
- Prepare and submit statistical reports on a scheduled basis
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Compile and submit cash flow, profit & Loss, and balance sheet reports
