Role Synopsis:

• The Customs Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of customs declarations for imports and exports, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• This role is vital for maintaining seamless customs clearance processes and supporting the company’s broader logistics strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

• Prepare and submit import/export customs declarations in accordance with national legislation.
• Review and validate shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of customs tariffs, tax regulations, and relevant international trade procedures.
• Communicate with customs authorities, brokers, and transport companies to ensure accurate documentation and clearance.
• Identify and resolve customs-related issues and discrepancies.
• Monitor and report on customs duties, VAT payments, and other import-related costs.
• Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions for audit and compliance purposes.

Desired background:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in customs declaration.
• Strong understanding of local and international customs procedures.
• Experience with customs declaration systems and software.

Required skills:

• Knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) codes and customs classification.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy in document preparation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and relevant customs software.
• Fluency in Azerbaijani (English and Russian is a plus).
