Role Synopsis:
The Head of the Radiology Department is responsible for ensuring that radiographic procedures are carried out safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role includes the proper implementation of radiographic imaging procedures, effective utilization of equipment, management of staff, and the enforcement of quality control protocols.

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee all daily operations of the radiology department, including scheduling, workflow management, and allocation of resources.
• Ensure that all imaging procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the radiology team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of radiographic images.
• Monitor imaging outcomes and implement corrective actions to address quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including radiation safety protocols and health regulations.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, implementing corrective measures to improve workplace safety.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of radiology equipment to ensure optimal operating conditions.
• Collaborate with biomedical engineers and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and present departmental reports, including metrics related to patient care, quality control, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and manage the departmental budget, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining high-quality patient care and operational effectiveness.

Required background and skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certification and licensure in the field of Radiology.
• Experience in a leadership or managerial role within a radiology department or imaging center .
• Strong knowledge of radiographic imaging techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with quality management systems and industry accreditation standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Engilish
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a safety-sensitive and highly disciplined work environment.
