Senior Geologist for Subsurface team

Role Synopsis:

• The Senior Geologist leads geological interpretation and subsurface evaluation to support exploration, appraisal, development, and production activities. The role is responsible for analyzing geological and subsurface data, developing geological models, identifying uncertainties and risks, and providing technical recommendations to support decision-making. The Senior Geologist works closely with multidisciplinary teams and contributes to project planning and field development activities.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead geological interpretation and subsurface evaluations for exploration and development projects. 
• Develop and review geological models, maps, cross sections, facies models, and reservoir characterization studies. 
• Integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to support well planning and field development activities. 
• Identify geological risks, uncertainties, and opportunities, and provide technical recommendations. 
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support project planning, and prepare technical reports and presentations. 
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.

Essential Education:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Geology, Geosciences, or a related field.

Essential experience and job requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in subsurface geology, reservoir characterization, and field development within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, RMS or similar) and geoscience applications.
• Ability to integrate data from multiple disciplines to generate high-quality geological interpretations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Profound communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools and digitalization trends in subsurface geology.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Azerbaijani
